I am a bit more than halfway through reading Silent Spring. A first reading, and it is surprising to me that I hadn't read it before, it seems like something that should have been required reading long ago. What I've been learning hasn't been a complete surprise to me, other than perhaps the growing realization how much was known 40 years ago that continues on with little regard to the actual effects or care to what it will mean for the future. Reading this post was like a follow up of that, actually, and it is frustrating and angering. But good too - good to see someone who cares and is speaking up about it.

I read your about, and it looks like you're a bit more optimistic than me - I can't even tell the difference between the republicrats and the democans! ;)

I'll be back!
