Homeland Insecurity!

This week the federal Transportation Department will begin a pilot program, allowing Mexican truckers onto all U.S. highways.  Previously they entered twenty-five miles, then transferred cargo to U.S. carriers.

While the government assures us of our safety, I feel it’s dubious at best.  The Mexican Transportation Department may have adequate vehicle safety rules; however, they don’t drug test, and their drivers are allowed to log too many hours on the road.

With our lack of border security, what are the implications?  Terrorist bombs could be smuggled in, or we could have truck loads of illegal immigrants.  What about drugs?  The economic impact on U.S. carriers could be immense.

Enough!  This is what you need to tell your congressman.  Security begins at home, not in Baghdad as the president says.  Tell them to stop this pilot program before it becomes permanent.
